The LOC Method; liquid, oil, cream, is the best technique in order to moisturize your natural afro textured hair and maintain healthy hair. This technique penetrates the hair shaft and seals in moisture which is essential to healthy, long and lustful hair. This method has three components: liquid, oil and cream. It can be applied in the L.O.C or the L.C.O method, it depends on your hair texture, porosity and what works best for your hair.

LIQUID

Everyone knows how important water is for our bodies, well it’s just as important for hair as well. When it comes to hair, I say that water is nature’s best moisturizer. Our hair needs water to stay hydrated and to grow, just like a flower, or everything else found in nature. You can do this by simply using a spray bottle with water, aloe vera juice or invest in a great leave-in conditioner to hydrate your curls and allow the moisture into the hair shaft.

OIL

Seeing that your hair is at it’s best when it's wet it is important that you try to lock that moisture into your hair strands. Unfortunately, we all know that water evaporates and when water dries, our hair dries too, so that is where the oil comes in. The oil is used to seal in the moisture that you've placed in the hair shaft. It improves hair's elasticity and prevents dry frizzy hair. You can use a heavy oil such as castor oil or a light oil such as sweet almond oil depending on your hair's porosity and hair type. You can also find a nice oil blend so that your hair retains moisture while getting the added nutrients it needs to flourish. Remember, oil doesn’t have to be the next step, it can also be the cream, it just depends on what works best for your hair.

CREAM

In this step you can apply a water-based creamy moisturizer which keeps the curls stay hydrated and defined. Cream also helps to seal in the moisture, which is why the oil and cream can be interchangeable in your hair routine.  Creams can also be used to style the hair when doing twist-outs and braids because it provides “slip” for better manageability. You can use creams such as JOSHICABEAUTY’s Coconut  & Brazilian Mango Shea Hair Butter or Rosemary Grapefruit Lime Curl Softening Cream to help you achieve softer, and healthier hair.

The amount of the product you apply depends on the amount of hair you have and your hair texture – less for shorter and finer hair or more for longer and courser hair. You can do this every day or every two days depends on how often your hair needs moisture. Also, JOSHICA BEAUTY's Curl Cream is an all- natural moisturizer made with rosemary essential oil so it promotes hair growth and keeps the hair healthier and stronger.

Keeps those curls moisturized!
